I wanted to share this poster we made for the Graphic Design Festival Breda which was held last month. We designed a typography poster with a visual update of a quote from the movie Fight Club. The poster was one of the winners of the Reflect - Poster Project.

The movie Fight Club was released in 1999, a pre-social media era. Tyler Durden was literally talking about our possessions, and how they can dominate and take over our lives. Fast-forwarding to the present there might be something else that made us slaves to our possessions. Putting Tyler Durden’s statement in a whole new perspective.

Vancouver-based art student Fiona Tang creates large-scale trompe l’oeil drawings of animals that appear to burst forth from the paper upon which they were so expressively rendered. She uses a variety of materials to create these awesome optical illusions, including charcoal, acrylic paint, conté and chalk pastels.

We love the photos in which Tang poses with her pieces, emphasizing the effectiveness of her illusions. A large stag, with birds perched on his antlers, looks so solid that we’re still waiting to see steamy breath leave his nostrils. An enormous salt water crocodile raises its head from the rippling grey water in order to receive a gentle pat on the snout. A ferocious shark and powerful humpback whale emerge from opposite walls for an underwater face-off.

Follow Fiona Tang here on Tumblr to check out more of her eye-popping artwork.

tha guy on the cliff he just finished highschool and what he did was he threw all his school papers and books over the cliff screaming “take that” personally i think that its really cool because in a way its like hes free. He went through four years of studying, exams, memorizing things that didn’t even matter but now he’s free now he can finally be free and i bet its the best feeling in the world

great, now all the birds and shit gonna be learning human knowledge. get ready for society to be conquered by animals. look outside and a deer is riding a bicycle down the road. stuck in line at the grocery store cause some rabbit is arguing with the clerk about a coupon. fish swims up the toilet while youre droppin a log, asks to borrow some salt. thanks a lot, guy on the cliff
